Putin emphasized Alaska’s historic ties to Russia, citing shared cultural heritage and over 700 Russian-origin place names in the state. He also expressed hope that partial understandings reached “will pave the path towards peace in Ukraine,” urging Kyiv and European capitals to respond constructively.
