Welcome to PARNAS ("parnasnews.com," "we," "us," or "our"), a digital news platform operated by Parnas Media and created by Aaron Parnas. By accessing or using our website, mobile application, or any services we offer (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

You may create an account using OAuth authentication through Google or Apple, or via email verification. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate and complete information.

3.2 Account Data

Your account may store the following information: profile details (name, email, profile image from OAuth provider), user preferences (theme, notification settings), bookmarks, reading history, and quiz progress (streaks, scores, history).

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3.4 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time. Upon deletion, your user data, associated sessions, and account information will be removed from our systems.

4. User Conduct and Acceptable Use

When using our Service, you agree NOT to:

  • Use automated systems, bots, or scrapers to access our content without authorization
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limiting or security measures
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

All original content authored by Aaron Parnas is owned by Parnas Media. Content synced from Substack remains subject to Substack's terms of service. AI-generated content (including quiz questions, auto-tags, and insights) is owned by Parnas Media.

5.2 Third-Party Content

Our Service may display embedded content from third-party platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Facebook, and Substack. Such content remains subject to the respective platform's terms of service.

6. Third-Party Services and Links

Our Service integrates with and links to various third-party services, including:

  • Venmo for donations
  • Substack for newsletter content
  • Social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Facebook)
  • Analytics providers (Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics)
  • AI services for content generation and analysis

We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of these third-party services. External links are provided for convenience, and users should review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party services they access.

7. Push Notifications

You may opt-in to receive push notifications from our Service. Available notification types include breaking news alerts, new article notifications, social post updates, and daily digest summaries.

You can customize which notifications you receive or unsubscribe entirely at any time through your account settings or your device's notification settings.

8. Quiz Feature

Our daily news quiz is generated from recent articles using AI technology. By participating in the quiz, you acknowledge that:

  • Quiz questions are AI-generated and may occasionally contain errors
  • You are limited to one quiz attempt per day
  • Your quiz performance (streaks, scores, answers) is tracked and stored
  • Quiz results and explanations are provided for educational purposes

9. AI Features Disclaimer

Our Service uses artificial intelligence for various features including quiz generation, article tagging, and content insights. By using these features, you acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies
  • AI responses should not be considered professional, legal, financial, or medical advice
  • AI features may be modified, updated, or discontinued at any time
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content

10. Service Availability and Modifications

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service. Access may be limited during periods of high usage or maintenance.

We are not liable for any third-party content, services, or transactions, including donations made through Venmo or newsletter subscriptions through Substack.

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Washington, D.C.
