Good evening everyone. This week has been a very long week. To put it into perspective, just one week ago many of us were going to bed assuming Saturday would be a normal Saturday. Then, only hours later, the United States struck Venezuela. Since that moment, the past six days have felt like trying to drink from a fire hose. The pace, the volume, and the gravity of what has happened have been relentless.
I know how many of you are feeling right now. I read your messages. I hear what you are saying. And as someone who has been reporting on all of this in real time, I feel it too. The overwhelm is real. The exhaustion is real. And if you are struggling to keep up, you are not alone.
That is why I want to pause and say thank you.
Through everything, you have stayed engaged. You have stayed informed. You have kept pushing forward instead of tuning out. Because of you, this platform reached tens of millions of people with accurate, verified information at a moment when misinformation was spreading aggressively. We challenged false narratives. We debunked lies coming from those in power. We told the truth, and we did it together.
As I approach the one year anniversary of doing this work full time, I am incredibly grateful for you. Your subscriptions and your support are what allowed me to take that leap in the first place, and they are what allow me to continue doing this work today. Tonight, I wanted to come to you with something different. Nothing designed to heighten anxiety or add to the noise. Earlier today, I had the opportunity to sit down with Ahmed al Ahmed, the man who personally confronted and stopped a terrorist attack at Bondi Beach in Australia. When I asked him what motivated him, he said something simple and powerful. He said he wants peace for all people.
Not many people ever come face to face with true evil and choose to act the way he did. His courage was not political. It was not ideological. It was human. It was heroism in its purest form.
That conversation stayed with me because it reflects something deeper about the moment we are living in. We are in an era where chaos is no longer accidental. Chaos is the point. Political strategy has increasingly become an exercise in exhaustion. The truth still exists, but it is deliberately buried beneath an endless wave of outrage, spectacle, and distraction.
Around that conversation, I also spoke with Ezra Levin from Indivisible today about how communities are organizing and responding here at home after the horrific shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.
He told me about a broad national coalition of groups including Indivisible, MoveOn Civic Action, the American Civil Liberties Union, Voto Latino, United We Dream, 50501, the Disappeared in America Campaign, and partner organizations across the country has called for a coordinated “ICE Out For Good Weekend of Action” on Saturday, January 10, and Sunday, January 11.
In less than 24 hours after the announcement there are already more than 1,000 events anticipated nationwide. These gatherings are planned to be nonviolent, lawful, and led by local communities to honor the life lost, demand accountability, and make visible the human cost of immigration enforcement actions.
Right now, there is a strategy coming from the White House. Here is how that strategy works. You witness so much wrongdoing that your ability to be shocked begins to erode. You are hit with so many scandals that the details blur together. Eventually, the effort required to stay informed becomes so draining that tuning out feels like the only option left. That is not a failure on your part. That is the goal. They do not need your agreement. They only need your fatigue.
I will be honest with you. That can feel frightening. I feel that fear too. But I want you to hear this clearly. I am here with you. And this community proves that the strategy of chaos does not work on everyone. Even in the middle of nonstop turbulence, we have built one of the most engaged and independent news platforms in the world.
The months ahead will be even more chaotic. That is not speculation. That is intention. The political machine will continue to push scandal after scandal into the public square, hoping the noise distracts us from the freedoms and truths slipping quietly beneath the surface.
But here is what I know. They can flood the zone. They can try to exhaust the public. They can attempt to bury the truth under endless waves of distraction. We will still be here. We will still be reporting. And we will still be doing this work together.
I am working on new projects that will strengthen this platform even further. Yes, we face resistance. Trump’s political allies and MAGA influencers have tried to discredit us, overwhelm us, and even shut us down. But they cannot erase a movement that millions of people are watching. They cannot silence a community that refuses to look away.
We are here.
We are growing.
And we are not done.
